September ’23 Update

Hard to believe, but we are already six weeks deep into the 23-24 school year. While we had several changes coming into this school year, things are going very well on our campuses. A few things that I wanted to highlight:

Attendance Goal

We are striving to ensure that every student in Shenandoah attends school 170/180 days. This is a metric that we believe many students will easily surpass, and it is a metric that our teachers will be tracking throughout the year.

Planned eLearning Days

October 5 and 6 are planned eLearning Days this year. Our teachers will post assignments for those days and will be available via email to assist students. Parent-Teacher Conferences will also take place on Thursday, October 5 where our teachers will be working until 8 p.m.  Teachers will be available on Friday, October 6 until noon. Click here for more information regarding our planned eLearning and Virtual Days.

Weather Delays

If we have to delay school due to fog or unsafe driving conditions, there will not be Before School Care provided at any of our schools. I would not want to put any of our staff members on the road early when school is delayed due to unsafe driving conditions. Due to our later start time, school will only be delayed by 90 minutes (instead of 2 hours).

Winter Weather Plan

We have finalized our Winter Weather Plan for the 23-24 school year. Please click here to see the details. Of course, we will provide reminders as winter weather hits, but I wanted you to have the full plan in advance.
