Developmental Preschool Classroom

The Developmental Preschool program provides special education services to preschool aged children. Children qualify for the program based on significant delays in cognition, communication, fine motor, gross motor, social and / or pre-academic skills.

Developmental Preschool services vary depending on the individual child’s needs. In addition to classroom services, children may also work with the Speech Therapist, Occupational Therapist, and/or Physical Therapist. The child’s individual goals are embedded in the classroom curriculum to provide opportunities to practice skills specific to their personal needs. The overall goal of the Developmental Preschool is to help prepare students to attend Kindergarten in the least restrictive environment.
